Good morning and welcome to my Boomer2Boomer Connection.
My name is Elbert Johnson and I am a Medicare Helper for seniors turning 65 and older.
My goal as your advisor is to provide education and information to Seniors both before and after they retire. The Information I will provide deals with topics ranging from retirement planning, Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, Final Expense, and a host of other topics.
Medicare and Social Security serve as the health care and financial foundation for most seniors.
Every day 10,000 baby boomers turns 65 and become eligible for Medicare. Social Security provides the majority of income to most elderly Americans. For half of seniors, it provides at least 50 percent of their income. And unfortunately, 1 in 7 Seniors, live in Poverty,
which allows many seniors to qualify for Medicaid.
Medicaid provides health coverage to low-income seniors who are also enrolled in Medicare,
which qualifies them as “dually eligible” and helps to pay most of their out-of-pocket healthcare and RX costs. Throughout retirement, seniors are not just at risk of serious illness or injury due to aging.
They are also challenged with managing the increasing costs for prescription drugs, housing, food, transportation, travel, and a host of other expenses.
Later in life, nursing home care or final expenses all require financial planning and resources.
Retirement is a milestone that countless workers look forward to. But it tends to catch many seniors off guard. The typical senior spends over $40,000 a year in retirement.
Many people assume that their expenses will go down in retirement. In reality, many actually
end up spending more money, not less, once they stop working. Remember, retirement should not be considered a destination we reach. It should be a joyful phase of our lives we enter where we can truly enjoy all of life’s best adventures & experiences.
Health Care and Retirement planning evolves throughout our lives and this becomes an
especially important process that constantly requires changes and updates and I want to make sure you are always on the right track.
As a Medicare and Retirement adviser, my philosophy is based on Proverbs 21:5 which states “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty.
